Is a permit required for burning on my property?

Yes. Permits valid for one year for burning acceptable materials may be obtained at Weston City Hall for $25.00. All fees benefit the Weston Volunteer Fire Department. For information call (972) 382-1001. If you have a burn permit, the Burn Line at (972) 548-4799 should be checked to make sure burning is allowed on a particular day.

Does Weston have an animal control ordinance?

Yes. Dogs and cats are required to have a current rabies vaccination. Weston's animal control ordinance contains a "leash law" component. Dogs must be in a fenced in area, on a leash or chain, or inside the owner's home. To report an animal problem, contact the Collin County Sheriff's office.
