Burn Ban in Effect

The City of Weston  has issued  an outdoor burn ban for properties within the city limits of Weston, Collin County, Texas, due to extremely dry conditions.  The 90-day ban will remain in effect until October 3, 2018, unless the Texas Forest Service or the City of Weston determines that it is no longer necessary.

The order does not prohibit outdoor burning activities related to public health and safety that are authorized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for: (1) firefighter training; (2) public utility, natural gas pipeline or mining operations; or (3) burns that are conducted by a prescribed burn manager certified under Section 153.048, Natural Resources Code, and meet the standards of Section 153.047, Natural Resources Code.

Authority for the ban falls under Local Government Code 342.003 and other applicable statutes.

Our vision is to prepare for and to embrace the future while sustaining
and preserving the identity and heritage which makes Weston unique.
