It’s great that so many residents are stepping up and have chosen to run for Weston City Council. The six candidates vying for three seats in November election are:

The Weston Candidate Forum Team is a small group of community citizens who are hosting this Q-and-A event.  Voters will get a chance to meet the candidates, and candidates will have an opportunity to discuss their platform and answer pressing questions by the voters.

Filing Deadlines for November 8, 2022 General Election

The City of Weston will hold an election November 8, 2022, electing three (3) Aldermen.

July 23, 2022 - First Day to File for Place on the General Election Ballot

August 22, 2022 5PM - Last Day to File for Place on the General Election Ballot

An application may be filed by:

a.  Mail.  An application filed by mail is considered filed at the time of its receipt by the appropriate authority.  The time of receipt is the time at which a post office employee places it in the actual possession of the authority or an agent; or deposits it in the authority's mailbox or at the usual place of delivery for the authority's official mail.

b.  Filing in Person.  Applications are accepted during normal business hours (8a-4p M-W, 8a-2p Th, additional 8a-5p Aug 22 and 3p-5p Aug 26)

c.  Email:  A signed, sworn, scanned candidate application may be submitted by email to cityhall@westontexas.com.  (An application must be notarized or otherwise sworn to before someone authorized to administer an oath under Texas law) prior to filing via email)

August 26, 2022 5PM - Last Day to File a Declaration of Write-in Candidacy

October 11, 2022 - Last Day to Register to Vote

November 8, 2022 - Election Day
